Dr. Masahiko Miura, Professor of Department of Dental Radiology and Radiation Oncology, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, has conducted research on diffusing alpha-emitter radiation treatment (Alpha-DaRT).
Dr. Miura and his team investigated the effects of this novel treatment method in their latest paper, "DNA damage response in a 2D-culture model by diffusing alpha-emitters radiation therapy (Alpha-DaRT)." on Nature.com Scientific Reports.
Alpha Tau Medical's Alpha-DaRT therapy uses α-emissions derived from daughter atoms of Ra-224 to diffuse within tissue, irradiating cancerous tumors.
Dr. Miura’s research studies the radiobiological foundation of this process and contributes to our understanding of this innovative therapy and its prospective applications in cancer treatment.
